What is a TIF district and how can it assist me in completing my proposed project?
- A TIF (or Tax Increment Financing) district is a special -purpose district. TIF funds are used to change the real estate market within a definable neighborhood by attracting business and residential development. A portion of the additional property tax from this new development is invested back into the neighborhood.
When and where does the City accept TIF project applications?
- Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla St., Room 2CN. Applications may also be submitted via email to the district manager. Contact information is available on each district’s page.

How do I pick up my goods at IIPOD?
- The International Inland Port of Dallas is a public-private partnership resulting in millions of square feet of warehousing, distribution, and light industrial space. It is not a port like the Port of Houston. However, UPS Dallas Intermodal Terminal does receive goods from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Please contact your shipping company for more information on how to get your items.
What jobs are available at IIPOD?
- The City doesn’t have a jobs board for opportunities available; each company within the Inland Port does its own hiring. A list of companies operating is available at the bottom of the main IIPOD page.
