DISTRICTS

Arts

Downtown is home to the nation’s largest arts district, covering 118 acres anchored by the Dallas Museum of Art, the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

This district is also home to the rejuvenated Dallas Farmers Market, three new parks, and a host of exceptional restaurants, shops, and venues.

BIOTECH

Pegasus Park is Dallas’ first state-of-the-art life sciences research park with nearly 2 million sq-ft of R&D and manufacturing facilities.

In 2023, Dallas was chosen to host one of three regional hubs for a new federal agency — the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) — with a mission to accelerate outcomes for challenging health issues. This is a clear indicator of Dallas’ reputation as an emerging national biotech and life sciences development leader.

CONVENTION

Located along the southern border of the Downtown district, the Convention district is home to The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD), which is undergoing a $3B expansion and renovation that will see it nearly double in size to over 2.5 million sq ft of state-of-the-art meeting, concert, and events space. The KBHCCD hosts over a million visitors each year, for major national and international conventions, meetings, concerts, antique and auto shows, and other special events. The surrounding neighborhood is brimming with hotels, fine dining, and a plethora of entertainment options.

FINANCE

With recent newcomers Charles Schwab and Bank of America, Uptown/Victory Park is Downtown — adjacent is the home of Dallas’ burgeoning finance district. An unprecedented growth trajectory has transformed this walkable urban neighborhood with high residential density and mid- to low-rise office buildings. Uptown broadly spans from Victory Park, home to the American Airlines Center, northwest to the Cityplace/West Village area and is served by the McKinney Avenue Trolley and the DART station at Cityplace/Uptown Station.

MEDICAL

Dallas’s Medical District is home to the UT Southwestern Medical Center and the William P. Clements Jr. Hospital, which tied for #1 best hospital in Texas in 2023, with Parkland Hospital and Children’s Hospital in close proximity. Located less than 10 minutes from downtown Dallas, this area is home to over 7 million sq ft of health care facilities.

NATURE

Dallas is set to build one of the U.S.’s largest urban nature parks, over 10 times the size of New York’s Central Park. The “Nature District” will cover 10,000 acres, including 7,000 acres of the Great Trinity Forest. The Harold Simmons Park will transform the Trinity River floodplain into playgrounds, lawns, and 73 miles of riverside trails. In addition, the park will be home to a golf club, the Texas Horse Park, and the Trinity River Audubon Center, with a nature center for children and event spaces. This transformative $325M project will break ground in 2024.
